Seven years after the release of the original, The Last of Us Part II is finally
out now on PlayStation 4. Even before release, writer-director Neil Druckmann a
cknowledged that some fans of the first game would dislike the sequel, and now t
hat the game is out, he's responded to more of the internet hate. This includes
hate directed toward one of the cast members, not because of the actor herself,
but the character she plays.

在發售之前,Neil就已經知道一些前作的粉絲會不喜歡這次的續作。現在發售後,他出來回
應網路上的黑特。而這之中也包括了因為飾演遊戲中的角色而受到大量黑特攻擊的女演員。
Speaking on former Nintendo boss Reggie Fils-Aime's podcast, Druckmann said it's
worthless to fight against people when they share their opinions about a game--
whether it be good or bad. However, Druckmann said he can't understand how peopl
e get so worked up and upset about fictional characters.
Neil在之前參加前任天堂老闆的語音放送中有提到,他認為跟群眾的評論(不管好與壞)對

但Neil真的無法理解為什麼群眾會對一個虛擬的角色這麼崩潰跟抓狂
"I think you have to create some separation to say, we made this game, we believ
e in this game, we're proud of this game, now it's out there and it's like whate
ver reaction people have--whether they like it or not--that's fair," Druckmann s
aid. "That's their reaction and you don't fight that. The other thing with the m
ore hateful stuff, the more vile stuff, that's a little harder. It's especially
harder when I see it happening to team members or cast members who play a partic
ular character in the game."
Neil說:「我們創造了這個遊戲,我們相信這個遊戲並對這個遊戲感到自豪,而現在他發售
了,不管群眾的反應是什麼,不管群眾喜不喜歡這個遊戲,這都是很公平的。我們不會去對
抗群眾的意見,因為這就是他們真實的反應。但是,那些惡劣的針對現實劇組人員的黑特攻
擊,是我們所很難去接受的」
"We have an actor, she's been getting really awful, vile stuff because of a fict
ional character she's playing in the game," Druckmann added. "I just have a hard
time wrapping my mind around that. The thing I try to do is just ignore it as m
uch as I can. When things escalate to being serious, there are certain security
protocols that we take and I report it to the proper authorities. Then you just
try to focus on the positives and focus on distracting yourself with other stuff
. But it's kind of just the reality."
Neil說:「我們有個女演員,她收到了非常惡劣並且可怕的攻擊只因為她在遊戲中飾演了一
個虛擬角色」
Neil接著補充:「我很難試著去理解並接受這件事情,我能做的就只有盡量的去忽視這些攻

著保持正面並且使自己分心,但充滿了這麼多的惡意攻擊的狀況才是現實。」
Also in the interview, Druckmann said he's been speaking with Chernobyl writer C
raig Mazin about this topic. They are currently working together on the HBO TV v
ersion of The Last of Us.
在訪談中,Neil提到他有跟HBO著名影集<車諾比>的編劇聊過這個主題
"I've had a lot of conversations with him about this stuff. He articulated it pr
etty well, it's like people have to get educated. This is kind of the cost. When
you're doing something big, and you might disappoint fans, there is a cost to i
t now," Druckmann said. "Which is, you're going to get a certain level of hate,
a certain level of vitriol that you just have to deal with. There is no other wa
y to make it go away."
Neil說:「我跟他聊這件事情聊滿多的,而他闡述的滿好的,大致上在說人們是需要學到教
訓的。這就是代價。當你想要幹件大事,你可能會讓粉絲失望,這就是現在我們所得到的代
價。這些代價是什麼?就是你會接收到許多不同程度的黑特跟酸言酸語需要去面對,而且你
是沒有方法可以完全避免的」
